Ipswich Vigoro 25/26 Pre-Season Survey

The Ipswich Vigoro Association would like to offer all players and members the opportunity to participate in what happens at Vigoro.  One of the best ways to do that is to attend meetings.  Whilst we know not everyone is in a position to do this we want to make it available to as many people as we can.     Currently we hold monthly meetings in person for approximately 1.5 hours.    The following questions are designed to gauge members' interest in participating in meetings. The Ipswich Vigoro Association would like to review the concept of Division 2 to ensure that we are catering for the majority of players in the Division.  We view the competition as a social league, as well as a pathway for Juniors to transition into before continuing on to Division 1, if that is their goal. We know that players still want to be competitive in Division 2, but we are asking for opinions on whether players would like to have greater opportunities to play and participate in the games, be more involved without feeling "scared" or "intimidated", or not getting an opportunity because of the stronger players dominating.  The executive committee has several suggestions that we would like members to consider, we ask that you have an open mind when completing your answers and consider the benefits to our game that could be achieved by considering the suggestions that follow.  Please feel free to comment honestly as we would this process to be as collaborative as possible.  Continue

The age of boys be lowered in the Senior divisions to 13 (applicable to new players only from 25/26 Season onwards.  This would not effect any boys that have previously been registered and played in the IVA competition and they could continue to play until the age of 14, unless graded up or out).

Any player who plays in both divisions and is deemed to be of Division 1 capability will have restrictions placed upon their bowling &/or batting (if assessed as necessary).

Which may include the following :- 1) If a bowler takes 3 wickets they need to be replaced and cannot bowl again in that same innings

If a batter scores 25 runs they must retire and cannot return in the same innings

If a batter doesn't bat in the first innings, they must get priority to bat in the second innings.
